Near the Pampaleone Glamping & Resort are the jewel of the Ionian Riviera, Torre Archirafi, and the harbour of Mount Etna: Riposto.
For bike enthusiasts, it’s possible to reach Torre Archirafi in just 20 minutes from the Pampaleone and enter the cycle lane that will take you to Riposto (3km) and from there to the North to the Fondachello beach (more crowded during the weekends of July and August) and Marina di Cottone (a true oasis of peace that becomes crowded only during the weekends of August and August 15th).
For those who prefer to travel on foot, the Edoardo Pantano Promenade, which connects Torre Archirafi to Riposto, is a pleasant walk: on the left you will see the majestic Etna, while on the right the Ionian Sea will keep you company with its fresh sea breeze. The sunrise on this promenade is certainly not to be missed!
The historic centre of the village of Torre has remained intact over time and you can appreciate the Mother Church of Santa Maria del Rosario and the eighteenth-century Palazzo dei Principi Natoli. During the summer evenings, Torre comes to life with people from surrounding villages who come to relax by the seaside.
The Harbour of Mount Etna (synonymous with Riposto) is the most convenient landing point for all those who reach Sicily by yacht and offers many environmentally friendly and cutting-edge services. Even our most demanding guests will be able to find the services and products they are looking for here, just 12 minutes away by car.
For gastronomy lovers, the historic Fish Market offers the catch of the day every morning (make sure to arrive early for the best products!). There are also many fruit shops that will provide you with the best fruits and vegetables harvested in the area. In our opinion the merchants of the area have remained very tied to tradition and here you will find local and genuine products with which to prepare a meal to impress your fellow travellers!
For those who love to eat but not to cook, restaurants abound: start from Piazza San Pietro to admire the historic centre of the village and look for the place that most tickles your appetite. In the evenings, the centre is then populated by chic wineries where to have a meal accompanied by excellent wines (this is the opportunity to taste a good nerello mascalese).
Riposto is a good starting point to reach Taormina to the north or Catania to the south by train. Next to the train station of Giarre-Riposto there is also the Circumetnea railway: only for the most adventurous, you can make the tour of Mount Etna to reach Catania in an charming locomotive.
